The only four-time all-conference selection in Marshall golf history, Gary Rusnak won All-Southern Conference honors each season from 1982 through 1985, when he won the Southern Conference Tournament championship as a senior. The Painesville, Ohio, native won the West Virginia Intercollegiate in 1984, when he was named an honorable mention All-American, and he won Academic All-American honors in both 1984 and 1985. After graduating from Marshall, he played professionally on the PGA, Canadian, Asian, Nike and Champions (Seniors) Tours. Rusnak was inducted into the Marshall Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002.
