John Grace
- Induction:
- 2010
- Class:
- 1999
A two-time All-Mid-American Conference linebacker, John Grace was a leader on some of the top defenses in Marshall history. A captain on Marshall’s undefeated, No. 10-ranked team in 1999 and a member of four conference championship squads in his Thundering Herd career, he helped Marshall to a 50-4 record over that span. The Okeechobee, Fla., native was the Defensive MVP of the 1998 Motor City Bowl win over Louisville, Marshall’s first bowl victory. After recording 414 career tackles in the Green and White, Grace went on to play eight seasons in the Canadian Football League for the Montreal Alouettes, Ottawa Renegades and Calgary Stampeders, winning All-Star honors three times and being selected as the 2005 CFL Defensive Player of the Year for the Stampeders. Grace was inducted into the Marshall Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010.
