Taylor, Mark

Mark Taylor
- Induction:
- 2003
- Class:
- 1990
Whenever Mark Taylor stood in front of the net, the Marshall men’s soccer team knew it had a chance to win. By the time the goalkeeper’s career came to a close in 1990, not only had the Sylvania, Ohio, product twice garnered All-Southern Conference honors – including a first-team award as a senior – he had set a school standard by posting 11 shutouts, giving Marshall a chance during an era when his team scored an average of only 1.4 goals per game. Not only are Taylor’s save totals in each of his four years (164, 152, 151, 116) the top four single-season totals in school history, his career total of 583 saves nearly doubles the next highest mark in the Marshall record book. Taylor was inducted into the Marshall Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003
