Johnson Continues Play in Tennis Tournament

RIVIERA, Calif. ? Jessica Johnson is still competing after three days of competition in the Riviera Women?s All-American Tennis Championships
On Tuesday, Johnson (sophomore/Pittsburgh, PA) was defeated by Kim Gates (Tennessee), 6-7 (3), 6-1, 6-4. Johnson then got to play in the qualifying round. In that round she defeated Jessica Rush (Northwestern), 6-3, 6-3.
In today?s action Johnosn defeated Vida Mulec (Baylor), 6-2, 7-6, 6-0. Mulec was ranked no. 63 in the country.
On Wednesday, October 11, Johnson will compete against Maren Haus of Wake Forest. Haus is ranked no. 43 in the country.
The tournament will continue through the end of the week.
