Tennis Still Advancing in East Regional Tournament

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. ? The Marshall University women?s tennis team still has members advancing in the Omni Hotels Eastern Regional Tournament.
In doubles action Anna Mitina and Jessica Johnson defeated Giese/Wilkes (Delaware), 8-0, in the first round of singles competition. In the second round Mitina/Johnson defeated Wang/Merrman (Pennsylvania), 9-8(6). The duo will compete in the next round against William & Mary. Alice Sukner and Asley Kroh were defeated in the first round by Kaluskova/Suttle (Syracuse).
In singles competition, Johnson and Sukner both received byes in the first round. Ashley Kroh defeated Elly Giese (Delaware) 6-2, 6-0, to advance into the second round. Danielle Hock was defeated by Allison Ashley (Boston College), 7-5, 6-2. After advancing from the qualifying round, Meghan Sukner was defeated by Pamela Floro (Maryland), 6-2, 6-3.
Competition will continue through Tuesday, October 30.
