Ida Dotson Named MAC East Division Player of the Week

Huntington, WV--Marshall guard Ida Dotson was named the Mid-American Conference East Division player of the week, announced Tuesday by the MAC Office in Cleveland.
The junior guard from Tombstone, Arizona, averaged 17.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.5 steals per game this weekend in Fresno, California, at the Fresno State Classic. Dotson, who helped the Thundering Herd to a third-place finish in Fresno, garnered all-tournament team honors for the second straight week. She had 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting, four rebounds, three steals, two assists, and a blocked shot in Marshall's win over Cal State Northridge. In the tournament opener, she nearly helped the team overcome a 21-point deficit in a three-point loss to Southern Utah, dropping in 19 points, dishing out five assists, and recording four steals.
Dotson and her Marshall teammates return to the court this Saturday in their home opener against West Virginia University Tech. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m.
