Marshall University's men's basketball team will be looking to gain state bragging rights when it faces off with in-state rival West Virginia University Wednesday at the Charleston Civic Center.

Marshall (8-8, 3-4 in the Mid-American Conference)will face off with West Virginia (7-8, 0-5 in the Big East Conference) in the nightcap off the annual doubleheader at 8:00 p.m. The Marshall women will battle WVU at 5:30 p.m.

The Thundering Herd will be looking for its first win in the series since a 91-87 victory over the Mountaineers in 1996. West Virginia leads the all-time series 22-7 and has won five straight.
