TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) _ Nick Moore scored 19 points and Keith Triplett had 18 points and 12 rebounds as Toledo beat Marshall 77-67 Saturday.
Two free throw by Tamar Slay put the Thundering Herd within 70-67 with 1:54 left, but the Rockets made 5-of-6 free throws and a jumper by Terry Reynolds to put the game out of reach.
Moore made 5-of-13 3-pointers and Triplett made 9-of-10 free throws for Toledo (7-9, 4-3 in the Mid-American Conference). Milo Kirsh came off the bench to score 16 points and grab 9 rebounds for the Rockets.
Slay led Marshall (9-9, 3-5 MAC) with 17 points and Ronald Blackshear had 15 and Latece Williams added 10 points for the Herd.
Marshall took its only lead of the game with 10:51 remaining off a 3-pointer by Blackshear that made it 53-52. Toledo then went on a 16-4 run capped by a 3-pointer by Triplett to take a 68-57 lead with 4:54 left.
Toledo outrebounded Marshall 44-26 and made 16 more free throws than the Thundering Herd (23 of 29 to MU's 7 of 12).
