Marshall Basketball Hosts Ball State Tuesday Night

Marshall University will be looking to get back on track when it hosts Mid-American Conference West Division power Ball State Wednesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Prior to the game, the new Big Green Room, located at floor level, will be open to the general public from 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
The Cardinals (13-6, 6-2 in the MAC) sit atop the MAC West Division and have spent time in the national spot light this season with non-conference wins over college basketball powers UCLA and Kansas. BSU is coming off of a 80-77 loss at Miami on Saturday. Ball State?s six losses have come to teams that have posted a combined record of 77-29 and include such powers as Duke, Oklahoma State, and Indiana.
The Cardinals are led by 6-8, 225 -pound, junior forward Theron Smith. Smith leads the Cardinals with 18.9 points and a MAC best 11.2 rebounds per game.
Marshall (9-9, 3-5 in the MAC) is coming off a dissapointing 77-67 loss at Toledo on Saturday. The play of senior Tamar Slay has been a bright spot for Marshall. Slay leads the team with 18.9 points per game and in steals with 29. He is also contributing 5.9 rebounds per game. Fellow senior J.R. VanHoose is averaging 15.2 points and 10.6 rebounds per game, while Temple transfer Ronald Blackshear is pouring in 17 points per game.
The new Big Green Room, located at floor level, in the Cam Henderson Center will be open to the public prior to the game. The new room, approximately 5,500 square feet in size, consists of Big Green offices, concessions area, and a board room. The room is designed to offer Big Green members at the Green Buffalo level and above an exclusive facility to obtain refreshments, lounge, and to watch the game. The facility will also be used to host special Big Green and University events.
The room will be open to the general public beginning 6 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. Beginning 7 p.m. the room will only be available to Big Green members with a Big Green
