Marshall Basketball Hosts Miami Thursday

Marshall University's men's basketball team will host Miami University Thursday. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.

The first 600 ladies in attendance will get a free carnation and fans will have a chance to win roses, dinners and getaways during the game.

The RedHawks (11-12, 8-4 MAC) enter the game on a three game winning streak. After starting the season with a difficult non-conference slate, Miami has rebounded to record a solid 8-4 conference mark that includes a 79-55 win over Ohio on Monday.

Alex Shorts leads the RedHawks with 13.7 points per game. Doug Davis and Juby Johnson contribute 12.3 and 10.9 points per game, respectively. All four of Miami?s conference losses have come on the road.

Marshall (11-11, 5-7) is coming off of an 83-60 loss at Bowling Green on Saturday.

Tamar Slay leads the Herd in scoring with 18 points per game, while J.R. VanHoose leads the team and MAC in rebounding with 11.1 boards per outing. Marshall is 7-3 at home this season and owns a 4-2 league mark in the Henderson Center.
