Marshall Women Open MAC Tournament Play Against Eastern Michigan Saturday

The Marshall women's basketball team travels to Ypsilanti, Michigan, this weekend for a first round showdown with Eastern Michigan. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m.
Marshall (9-18, 5-11) closed out regular season play with a stellar defensive performance in a 63-37 win over Akron on Tuesday night. The Herd held the Zips to eight first-half points and limited Akron to a 27.3% shooting percentage from the floor. Ida Dotson leads MU in scoring, averaging 13.5 points per game. Andrea Fitzgerald is next up, adding 10.2 points per game.
The Herd are looking to avenge a 57-44 loss to Eastern Michigan(17-10, 10-6) on February 9th. Eastern is coming off of a 72-58 win against Western Michigan in Ypsilanti on Tuesday. On the season, the Eagles have won 10-of-12 games overall at home in the Convocation Center, and 7-of-8 conference games. EMU is led by Abby Wiseman, who averages 13.3 points per game.
