Old Dominion Beats Marshall In Women's Tennis

RICHMOND, VA.?The Marshall women?s tennis team fell to the Old Dominion Monarchs, 5-2, Saturday afternoon in Richmond.
Marshall got victories from the number five and six spots, as Joelle Good defeated Julia Sotieriu, 6-4, 6-4, at number five and Ashley Kroh knocked off Patricia Araujo, 6-3, 7-5. Jessica Johnson lost a tough, three-set marathon match to Nataly Cahana, 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 at number one. All of the other singles matches were won by the Monarchs in straight sets.
Old Dominion took two out of the three doubles matches to gain their fifth point of the day. The Herd?s only win in doubles was at number three, when Danielle Hock and Alice Sukner took out Lara van Rooyen and Patricia Araujo in a hard fought match, 9-8.
The Herd returns home Wednesday to take on Virginia Tech. Those matches are scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. start.
