Sciullo Named Playboy All-American

Steve Sciullo |
Marshall University tackle Steve Sciullo has been named to the 2002 Playboy Preseason All-America Football team and will appear in the magazine?s preseason football issue this summer.
The six-foot-six, 315-pound senior from Pittsburgh, Pa., earned first team All Mid-American Conference honors, and was named an Outland Trophy semifinalist, last season after anchoring an offensive line that helped the Thundering Herd become the first MAC team in history to average more than 500 yards of total offense per game.
Sciullo, one of only 49 players named to the Lombardi Award Watch List last week, is the third Marshall player since 1997 to be named to the team. Thundering Herd wide-receiver Randy Moss was named to the team in 1997, while quaterback Chad Pennington made the squad as the Anson Mount Scholar Athlete in 1999.
The Marshall senior will participate in Playboy?s All-America Weekend in Phoenix this May. During that time he will take part in a photo shoot with the other Playboy All-Americans for the magazine?s preseason issue.
Sciullo and his Thundering Herd teammates will take part in the annual Green-White game Saturday (April, 13) at Marshall Stadium. The game, scheduled for 7:00 p.m., marks the end of Spring practice. Tickets are $5 at the gate and all proceeds benefit the MU Quarterback Club.
