Marshall Women Travel To Northern Illinois

The Marshall women?s basketball team heads north to take on Mid-American Conference foe Northern Illinois Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. central time. Marshall is 5-10, 1-3 in the MAC, while the Huskies are 6-10, 2-3 in conference play.
NIU leads the all-time series, 6-0, and won last year?s meeting, 79-55, in Huntington. Northern Illinois is coming off of their second MAC win of the season Wednesday night, when they downed Central Michigan, 49-43, in the new NIU Convocation Center. This marks the first trip to the new building for the Herd women.
Marshall looks to snap a four-game losing streak Saturday in Dekalb. However, the Herd look to build on a promising effort against West Virginia, a game they lost, 67-63. MU was tied at the half against the Mountaineers, and nearly pulled out the upset of their intrastate rivals. Sikeetha Shepard-Hall led Marshall with a career-high 25 points.
