"Early Bird with the Herd" Scheduled for Saturday

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. ? Marshall University head women?s basketball coach Royce Chadwick has announced that Saturday morning, Oct. 25, will mark the annual ?Early Bird with the Herd? practice and scrimmage event at the refurbished Cam Henderson Center.
?Early Bird with the Herd? is open to the public and media, kicking off with an 8 a.m. Saturday morning practice, followed by an intrasquad scrimmage at 9 a.m. The Marshall women will be divided into Green and White teams, while basketball officials will be utilized during the competition.
The women?s basketball program will provide coffee, juice and donuts for the event. Thundering Herd players will be available for autographs following the scrimmage.
Marshall coaches describe the event as a first look at the 2003-04 squad and as a way to see ?how far we?ve come,? as the official beginning of fall practice commenced last weekend.
