Blackshear Named MAC East Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Marshall's Ronald Blackshear has been named the Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week.
Blackshear, a junior guard from Camilla, Ga., averaged 30 points per game in three outings with a high of 40 points at Eastern Michigan. Blackshear scored 28 points at Western Michigan and 22 against Bowling Green. The junior scored the game-winning points with 25 seconds remaining against the Falcons. The Thundering Herd standout connected on 19 three-pointers for the week, an average of 6.3 per game and shot 81.3% (13-16) from the free-throw line.
This is the second time this season that Blackshear has won the award and the third time that a Marshall player has been selected. Blackshear won player of the week honors on November 26, while Marvin Black took the honor on Dec. 23rd.
