OXFORD, Ohio - Juby Johnson scored 21 points to lead the Miami Redhawks to a 69-49 win over Marshall in Mid-American Conference men's basketball action Saturday.

Johnson, a junior guard, connected on six of 13 shots and was a perfect six of six at the free throw line. Danny Horace added 14 points for the Redhawks.

Miami (10-11 overall, and 8-4 MAC) used a tremendous defensive effort and solid outside shooting to get the win. Marshall (11-11 overall, 7-7 MAC) shot a season-low 14.3% from three-point range (2-14)en route to a season-low 49 points, while Miami connected on nine of 22 three-point attempts.

Marshall was led by Ronald Blackshear's 13 point effort. The Marshall standout also led the team with five rebounds and three assists.

"We just couldn't hit the ocean today," Blackshear said. "There are going to be games like this and you just have to shrug it off and move on. Miami did a good job today and deserved to win."

Marshall now gets a few days off before hosting Illinois State on Feb. 22 at 2:00 p.m. The non-conference match-up is part of the first ESPN Bracket Buster Saturday and will be televised by ESPN Regional.
