Ronald Blackshear Named to NABC All-District Squad

2/19/2003

Overland Park, KS - Marshall University junior guard Ronald Blackshear has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District 4 Team and is now eligible for NABC Division I All-America honors.

Blackshear, a junior from Camilla, Ga., averages 21.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. The Marshall standout has connected on 79 of 200 three-pointers (39.5%) and 89 of 101 free throws (88.1%) this season. He is a second-team all-district selection.

The NABC's all-district teams recognize the country's best men's collegiate basketball student-athletes each year. Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across the country. The 150 student-athletes, from 15 districts, are now eligible for the NABC Division I All-American Team to be announced at the conclusion of the NCAA men's basketball season.

Blackshear's selection marks the third consecutive year that a Marshall player has been named to the NABC all-district squad. Former Marshall standout and current New Jersey Net Tamar Slay earned the honor twice.
