Marshall Tennis Secures Apperances in Both Singles and Doubles Finals

BLACKSBURG, Va.- Marshall University tennis player senior Jessica Johnson (Sewickly, Pa.) advanced to the final round of singles and doubles play at the Virginia Tech Fall Invitational, Saturday.

Johnson, secured her position in the finals with a win over third seed Ashlee Davis (Virginia Tech), winning in two straight set matches (6-3, 6-3). The final match is schedule for Sunday at 10:00 a.m.

Marshall also locked a spot in the doubles final. Johnson and junior Ashley Kroh (Louisville, Ky.) advanced to the final with an 8-4 win over Wake Forest. The tandem is scheduled to meet second seed Wake Forest?s combination of Karin Coetzee and Aimee Smith. The doubles final is scheduled for Sunday at 8:00 a.m.
