Men?s Basketball Readies For Second Exhibition

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall men?s basketball team will take on their second and final exhibition opponent Thursday evening when Glenville State comes to the Henderson Center for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
The Thundering Herd are coming off a 98-57 win over fellow WVIAC school West Virginia Tech on Saturday afternoon. Senior forward David Anderson (Levittown, P.R.) led Marshall with 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting, while also grabbing a team-high six rebounds. Freshman Joe Miles (Forestville, Md.) tallied 16 points in his first official game in the Green and White, and senior guard Enoch Bunch (Nashville, Tenn.) and LaVar Carter (Louisville, Ky.) each scored in double-digits with ten and 11 points, respectively. Bunch scored his ten points in only 12 minutes of action, while Carter powered his way to 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting. Senior guard A.W. Hamilton (Georgetown, Ky.) led the team in assists with eight and steals with five.
For the game, Marshall was an impressive 56.5% from the floor, and had 30 assists on 39 made baskets. The Herd?s assist-to-turnover ratio was also 2.5-to-1 as a team.
Glenville State finished the 2003-04 season with a 10-18 record, 8-10 in the WVIAC. The Pioneers lost two of the conference?s leading scorers, Jonathan Burge and Andrew Harding, to graduation.
Admission for the game is $5. Season ticket holders can sit in their seats for the game, with the other available seats open for general admission.
