TOLEDO, Ohio - The Marshall University women's swimming and diving team fell to the University of Toledo, 171-126, on Friday at the Student Recreation Center Pool.
Leading the Thundering Herd was junior Milla Kuurto (Lohja, Finland) with first place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke (58.73), the 100-yard butterfly (57.50) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:08.36). Kuurto also placed second in the 400-yard medley relay (Erika Nilsson, Emily Moe, Emily Edmonson) with a time of 4:02.19.
Senior Erika Nilsson (Haninge, Sweden) added a first place tie in the 200-yard butterfly (2:06.23), a second place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (5:07.14) and a third place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:35.12).
Freshman Renee Lambert (Morrelville, Tenn.) added a first place finish of her own in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:55.01.
In diving events junior Casey Mulholland (Stone Mountain, Ga.) finished third on the 1-meter boards (228.90) and in second in the 3-meter event (245.55).
The Herd travels to Eastern Michigan on Saturday to take on the Eagles. Start time is set for 1 p.m.
