Mulholland to Compete in NCAA Diving Zones
3/11/2004
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Sophomore diver Casey Mulholland (Stone Mountain, Ga.) qualified for the NCAA Diving Zones. The meet will be held March 12-13, in Bloomington, Ind. on the campus of Indiana University.
Mulholland qualified in both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards for the Herd. However, she will only be competing in the 3-meter event.
"We decided not to have Casey dive in the one meter event," said Marshall University Diving Coach Ryan Donley, "this way we were able focus more on perfecting the three meter."
This is the second year that Mulholland has qualified for the competition. Last season she failed to qualify for the finals, but gained a lot of experience from the event.
"This year Casey knows how the meet works," said Donley, "she knows what to expect. She's also more aware of what level of competition she will be facing."
The 3-meter is scheduled to take place on Saturday.
