HUNTINGTON, W.Va. ? Marshall University tennis coach John Mercer announced today that Canadian star Alizee Paradis will compete for the three-time defending Mid-American Conference champion Thundering Herd in 2004-05.
Paradis, a Quebec City, Quebec, native, is a 5-foot-10 right-hander that was ranked as high as No. 7 in Canada?s under-16 poll in 2003. She was also tabbed No. 18 in the under-18 category that same year. In doubles play, Paradis ranked No. 13 in Canada.
Paradis? 2003 season not only saw her surge to the upper level of Canada?s tennis rankings, but she was a finalist in both singles in doubles play at the Quebec U16 Provincial Championships. In 2001, Paradis was crowned champion in singles and doubles at the New England U14 Open in Boston, Mass.
