Marshall Women Attempt to Snap Three-Game Slide to WVU

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Marshall and West Virginia once again collide in the annual Toyota Capital Classic at the Civic Center in Charleston, W.Va. Tip-off is set for Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., which will be followed by the men?s MU-WVU game at 8 p.m.
Marshall (5-7, 0-2 Mid-American Conference), losers of a season-high three straight, is 5-5 in non-conference games this season. In its last such game, the Thundering Herd fell to No. 17 Maryland at the Terps? Comcast Center in College Park, Md. West Virginia (10-3, 1-2 BIG EAST), meanwhile, picked up its first BIG EAST win on Saturday at Providence, 60-45. The win snapped a three-game Mountaineer slide in which they were outscored by an average of 10.7 points per game in the three losses.
The Herd is off to an 0-2 start in MAC play after dropping a pair of games to MAC East Division rivals Miami (Ohio) and Kent State last week.
Marshall is 2-2 on a nuetral floor this season while West Virginia played just one nuetral site game, defeating Wichita State in Miami, Fla.
Tuesday's game features a television broadcast on the Capital Classic Network on West Virginia Public Television. WRVC 930-AM will carry the game live on radio, along with Marshall?s student station, WMUL 88.1-FM, which will also utilizes a a web broadcast at www.marshall.edu/wmul.
