Marshall Swimming Back in Action at Home

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University women's swimming and diving team returns to action on Friday when Bowling Green enters into the Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium. Start time is set for 6 p.m.
The Falcons currently hold the eighth spot in the Mid-American Conference standings while the Herd sits in sixth with four conference meets remaining. During their last meeting Bowling Green defeated Marshall 203-95.
This is the first meet for the Herd since their winter training session in Coral Gables, Fla. During training, the Herd scrimmaged against Western Illinois and Alfred College winning all five events. Erika Nilsson (Haninge, Sweden) had the top finish in the 100-yard freestyle (55.32). Chattanooga, Tenn. native Emily Edmonson captured the top spot in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.50). Junior Liisa Raty (Espoo, Finland) placed first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.27. In the 100-yard backstroke the top place went to Milla Kuurto (Lohja, Finland) with a time of 1:03.48. Wrapping up the top finishes was Renee Lambert (Morrelville, Tenn.) with a time of 25.95 in the 50-yard freestyle.
