HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Thundering Herd looks for its second consecutive win Sunday afternoon when Youngstown State invades Cam Henderson Center Sunday afternoon. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.

Marshall is coming off a 66-56 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore Thursday night at home. Senior center Mark Patton (Barboursville, W.Va.) tied a career high with 21 points - he also added eight rebounds. Sophomore guard Joe Miles (Forestville, Md.) tallied 13 points, and Markel Humphrey (Ellenwood, Ga.) notched a career-high with 10 points. The Herd had the lead for the entire 40 minutes after shooting two free throws before the opening tap because of a technical foul on UMES for not entering their starting lineup on time.

Youngstown State is 1-3 in the 2005-06 season, with their lone win coming over Slippery Rock on November 23, 95-53. The Penguins' three loses came at St. Francis (Pa.), at Akron, and against Kent State at home. Junior guard Quin Humphrey leads YSU in scoring and rebounding, averaging 18.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per contest. Keston Roberts is next in scoring for the Penguins, averaging 14.3 points per game, and Dominique Crawford rounds out YSU's double-figure scorers with 10.3 points per contest.

Freshman wing player Markel Humphrey will have a special interest in today's contest - he will be competing against his older brother Quin, a junior guard at Youngstown State. The elder Humphrey is leading the Penguins in both points and rebounds. Markel, part of head coach Ron Jirsa's heralded second recruiting class, is contributing 3.8 points and 1.4 rebounds in 14.4 minutes of action.

Miles is the Herd's leading scorer so far this season, averaging 13.4 points off of the Marshall bench. Travis Aikens (Orlando, Fla.) is next at 12.8 points per contest, and Patton rounds out MU's double-digit scorers with 12.0 points per game.

Marshall and Youngstown State will be meeting for the 7th time Sunday afternoon, with the Thundering Herd holding a 5-1 edge in the all-time series. The two schools have not met on the hardwood since the 1987-88 season, when Marshall defeated the Penguins, 79-65, in the Marshall Memorial Invitational at the Henderson Center.

Tip-off is set for 2 p.m., and can be heard live on the ISP/Thundering Herd Radio Network or on the Internet at www.HerdZone.com.
