Champion, Hodge Leave Women's Basketball Team

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University head women's basketball coach Royce Chadwick announced today that juniors Crystal Champion (Washington, D.C.) and Teyonka Hodge (Washington, D.C.) voluntarily withdrew from the team and will not return to the Thundering Herd.

"It's very unfortunate that these young ladies have chosen not to continue their careers and to pursue other avenues," Chadwick said. "Our team will band together and move forward without them."

Champion, a forward, had started in 29 straight games for the Herd and was the team's third leading scorer this season. Hodge, a point guard, was the Herd's leader in assists in her first two seasons at MU.
