Herd Tennis at UK Fall Invitational This Weekend

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Thundering Herd tennis team will be in action this weekend at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Kentucky.
Eleven other teams are in the field in Lexington, Ky., to join the Herd. Defending SEC Champ Kentucky headlines the field along with Marshall, Auburn, Purdue, Louisville, Illinois, Ohio State, East Tennessee State, Eastern Kentucky, Denver, Abilene Christian and Middle Tennessee State.
Marshall is no stranger to playing at UK. The Herd was there for the UK Fall Invite last fall, played a dual-match against the Wildcats in the spring and then was matched up against host UK in the first-round of the 2005 NCAA Tournament.
The Herd is led into the tournament by junior Lynzee Kever and sophomore Shannon Brown. The duo made it to the finals of the Penn Invitational last weekend in doubles action. Kever also advanced to the Elite 8 in singles play.
The first matches at UK begin Friday at 9 p.m. Herdzone.com will have updates throughout the weekend on the Herd's progress. Kentucky's athletic website, www.ukathletics.com will post updated tournament results periodically each day.
