Jill Gainey Named Assistant Director of Compliance

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Jill Gainey has been named Assistant Director of Compliance at Marshall University, Director of Athletics Bob Marcum announced today.
Gainey, an Angola, Ind., native, has served in the same position on an interim basis since March.
"I am excited that Jill will be remaining with the compliance staff on a full-time basis," Associate Athletic Director for Compliance David Reed said. "She has done a tremendous job as a graduate assistant and while serving in the interim.
"Her experiences at Indiana and Marshall will serve the compliance staff well and she has a bright future ahead of her."
Gainey, 22, came to Marshall as a compliance graduate assistant in August after a one-year intern stint at her alma mater, Indiana University. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Sport Management and Marketing from IU in 2005 and is on course to earn her master's degree in Athletic Administration from MU this summer.
Gainey's duties will cover all aspects of NCAA compliance, including the monitoring of activities within the Marshall athletic department and the education of coaches and student-athletes of NCAA regulations.
Gainey replaces Nick Ojea, who left Marshall to rejoin the University of Louisville staff as Assistant Director of Compliance.
