UTEP Tops Marshall, 88-64

EL PASO, Texas (AP) - Kevin Henderson came off the bench to score 21 points and grab seven rebounds in Texas-El Paso's 88-64 victory over Marshall on Wednesday night.

Four other players scored in double digits for the Miners (10-6, 2-0 Conference USA). Marvin Kilgore added 15 points and Malik Alvin had 14, including three 3-pointers. Maurice Thomas had 11 points and a team-high nine rebounds, while Stefon Jackson had 10 points.

The Miners led 51-31 at the break and took a 27-point lead with 17:05 remaining. They turned 22 Marshall turnovers into 30 points.

Tre Whitted came off the bench to lead The Herd (5-10, 0-2) with 20 points. He was 4-of-7 from 3-point range. Robbie Jackson had 12 points and eight rebounds, and Chris Ross added 10 points.

Marshall hit only 32 percent from the field.
