HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The final two games of Marshall's stint in the Preseason WNIT have been determined. The Thundering Herd will take to the road next weekend for two games, both of which will be played in Oxford, Ohio.
On Friday, Marshall will face IUPUI in the first consolation round before facing either Radford or Miami on Saturday.
Miami and Radford will face off on Friday at 6 p.m. before Marshall and IUPUI, which will start 30 minutes after the completion of Miami and Radford's game. Saturday's action also starts at 6 p.m. with the losers of Friday's games facing off in the first game, followed by the winners 30 minutes after the completion of that game.
Marshall has a long history with Radford and Miami. The Herd has faced Radford 24 times, holding a 13-11 lead in that series. In the last meeting, Marshall was on the winning end of an 80-50 decision in 2003. Marshall and IUPUI have never met.
Miami, a former Mid-American Conference rival of the Herd, holds a 16-3 lead in the overall series. The Herd downed the RedHawks, 76-63, in the last meeting in February of 2005. That win ended a 15-game winning streak that Miami had over Marshall. This will be the first meeting since Marshall's move to Conference USA.
Following the final WNIT games, the Herd will travel to Morehead State for a game on November 21 before opening its home slate on Saturday, November 24 against Niagara.
