Women's Basketball To Face North Texas

DENTON, Texas - Following the Sixth-Annual Fifth Third MU Classic, the Thundering Herd women's basketball team will travel to Denton, Texas to take on the University of North Texas at 8 p.m. on Tuesday night.
Marshall is coming off of a 70-66 loss at the hands of the Pittsburgh Panthers in the championship game of the Fifth Third MU Classic. It marked the first loss for Marshall in the history of the tournament.
In Friday's tournament opener, Marshall took down Jackson State in dominating fashion, finishing with an 87-61 win.
Alyssa Hammond and Kizzy Hart were the stars for Marshall in its two games and were each named to the All-Tournament Team for their efforts. Hammond finished the tournament with 31 points and 13 rebounds while Hart scored 20 and had five steals.
North Texas comes into Tuesday's game with a record of 5-4. In their most recent action on Saturday, North Texas fell to C-USA member SMU by a 68-62 score.
Amber Jackson leads the Mean Green, averaging 13.6 points. She has also tallied 50 rebounds, tied for second on the team.
This will mark the first of three trips to Texas for Marshall. They will take on Texas-Arlington on December 18 before making their third trip in late February to face Rice and Houston.
Following Tuesday night's game, the Herd will have a ten-day layoff before facing former Mid-American Conference rival Ohio University on December 14. December 16 will mark the program's Seventh-Annual Jam The Cam event as Marshall will welcome Navy to the Cam Henderson Center.
