IRVING, Texas - Marshall senior Kizzy Hart, who averaged 19.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in the Marriott Cavalier Classic over the weekend, was named C-USA Player of the Week on Monday.
Hart, who was named to the All-Tournament Team, began the week with a 14-point performance in Friday's 77-72 win over Big 12 foe Missouri. She was 4-of-4 from the charity stripe while tallying four assists.
In Saturday's championship game against ACC power Virginia, Hart tied her career-high with 24 points. That total was also a game-high. She also led the Herd with six assists while registering an assist, block and a steal.
She shot .462 from the field (12-of-26), .818 from the charity stripe (9-of-11) and .417 from beyond the arc (5-of-12) in tournament play.
This is Hart's first C-USA Player of the Week honor. She currently leads the Herd and ranks fourth in C-USA in scoring, averaging 14.6 points per game. She also ranks seventh in the league in most 3-pointers per game (1.62) and 14th in free throw percentage (.723), both tops the team charts.
Hart is the second Marshall player to win C-USA Player of the Week honors, joining Casey Baker, who took home the honor on December 17.
