WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Marshall Thundering Herd women's tennis team could not break No. 12 William & Mary's streak of stellar play on Friday, falling to the Tribe 7-0.

For the Herd (5-4) its streak of 93 regular season dual matches of not being shutout came to an end on Friday. Marshall had posted at least one point in the dual match format over the past four-plus seasons dating back to Feb. 2, 2003, when the Herd fell to Washington, 7-0.

William & Mary (7-0) came out taking the doubles point by winning all three matches. The Intercollegiate Tennis Association's No. 1 team of Megan Moulton-Levy and Katarina Zoricic defeated Marshall's Karolina Soor and Thaddea Lock, 8-3. The Herd's Kellie Schmitt and Yulia Kashelkina lost in the number two position to Ragini Acharya and Magdalena Bresson, 8-0. In the third spot, Lynzee Kever and Jeanne Schwartz dropped their match to Barbara Zidek and Lauren Sabacinski, 8-6.

In singles play at the top position in the lineup, No. 18 Schmitt felt her first loss of the dual match season to No. 5 Moulton-Levy, 6-2, 6-0. The remainder of the Herd's single matches would find a similar straight-set outcome.

The Herd will look to rebound in Williamsburg on Saturday with a 1 p.m. match with Ohio State (5-1).
