Steve Cotton Named West Virginia Sportscaster of the Year

SALISBURY, N.C. - Steve Cotton, the "Voice of the Thundering Herd", was named the West Virginia Sportscaster of the Year, as voted on by state members of the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.

Cotton, who received his sixth such honor, was honored at the 48th Annual National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association Awards Program over the weekend. Fox Sports' Joe Buck was honored as the National Sportscaster of the Year, while Sports Illustrated's Rick Reilly was named the National Sportswriter of the Year.

In addition to Cotton, Marshall beat writer Anthony Hanshew of the Huntington Herald-Dispatch was named the West Virginia Sportswriter of the Year.
