HUNTINGTON - Marshall swimming and diving will conclude a four-meet, season opening home stand Saturday as the Thundering Herd hosts Transylvania and Fairmont State in a three-team double dual meet at the Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium.
In addition to women's events, both Pioneers and the Falcons will have men's teams in action as well. Marshall head coach is excited about the Herd's improvement over the past month and expects his team to put up big scores Saturday.
"We are looking to improve again this weekend," Kraus said. "We want to stay focused and be aggressive in our thinking and our swims. Our divers have been strong and we want them to take that next step and come up with a NCAA Zone cut or two."
Marshall's divers have been very strong for the Herd through the first three meets and have helped the Herd to a 3-2 record. Senior Siobhan Schuurman has yet to lose an event yet this season and was the C-USA Diver of the Week following Marshall's win over Radford. Schuurman is still looking for a score that will qualify her for a her second straight NCAA appearance.
The Herd's swimmers also came on strong in their last competition, sweeping Youngstown in every event. Marshall had season best times in the relay events.
This will be Marshall's last dual meet of the fall. The Herd will compete next at the Miami University and John Carroll Invitationals before taking its annual training trip in December.
