Marshall Falls to Dayton 62-50

DAYTON, Ohio (AP)--Chris Wright had 16 points and Marcus Johnson added 11 to lead Dayton to a 62-50 victory over Marshall on Tuesday night.

It was the third win for the Flyers (11-1) since their lone loss at Creighton.

Chris Lutz had 14 points for Marshall (6-5).

Marshall trailed 25-22 at halftime but started the second half with a 3-pointer by Lutz, and the Thundering Herd kept it close, going to 40-40 on a 3-pointer by Darryl Merthie at 12:28.

But Marshall went scoreless for the next 9 minutes while Dayton made a 12-0 run that included two baskets by Wright and four free throws by Stephen Thomas.
