"It was a very physical basketball game today. It was rough and tumble. I think we really missed our players that weren't here today to help give us some extra depth and humph in the paint. But I was very proud on the way our team fought. We seemed like we were behind all night long and fighting from a deficit but we kept fighting in there. We had some opportunities. "
"Kendra Reed was very good in the first half. We left her open a couple of times to often and I think she had 18 at half. But we did a good job on their post players inside but unfortunately we had to pick our poison. We left our guards off to help on the post and I thought we slowed down [Pauline] Love and [Stephanie] Helgeson in the first-half. But the guards really hurt us from the perimeter. "
"I didn't think we played good enough defensively down the stretch to try and put them away. We really needed a few stops very badly but were unable to get them. If you look at Southern Miss, when they score 70 points or above they win and under 70 they don't. Our goal was to hold them under 70 but we gave up 40 in the first-half. My nutshell approach is that we didn't get it done defensively tonight. "
