Head Coach Royce Chadwick
Opening Statement
"I don't think I've ever seen as many shots that just wouldn't fall. They seemed like good shots for us. We couldn't get anything to go down early and it's very difficult to just keep playing defense. We didn't shoot the ball well all night long. We started the game exceptionally cold. We knew they were going to shoot 20-25 threes and that we would be in trouble if they made ten. We were in enough trouble with the nine they made. I thought we did a good job in the second half of holding it together and trying to make something happen. It certainly didn't seem like our night."
"It was a rough and tumble game and we didn't adjust very well to the physicality. I thought that was a big difference. I thought there were too many turnovers that led to easy baskets for them. There weren't' enough opportunities for us to get easy baskets. It seemed like every time we tried to get a basket it was very difficult. When we got a good look, we just couldn't knock it down. It was a very frustrating night for our team."
On fighting through poor shooting ...
"I think they had like 15 or 17 points our turnovers in the first half. We came out and finally got some good looks. When you're a freshman post player and you've got the ball in a place where you think you can score and you don't make it, you say, `It's not my shooting night.' I think we had a lot of freshman tonight who thought it wasn't their night. We've got to keep fighting through those things. With more experience, I think we'll be able to get over that cold shooting streak."
Sophomore Alyssa Hammond
On the physical nature of the game...
"We never call fouls in practice. Coach lets us play. We should have known it was coming. It's February and they're going to let you play. We probably should have handled that better."
Senior Melody Hudson
On staying positive ...
"After every game it's going to be the same thing. Either you win or you lose. You've got to be able to handle it. I'm not going to let it get me down. I'm going to stay up and focus on the next game. Hopefully, we can come out and stay strong for these last two games."
