The 60th-ranked Thundering Herd improved to 12-3 overall while the Crimson fell to 0-9 so far this season.
The Herd took the all-time series lead over the Crimson, 1-0.
"Harvard is struggling a bit so far this season with a difficult schedule," Marshall's head coach John Mercer said. "But we did a good job against them at the singles positions by getting on top early and we hope to build on that."
The 16th-ranked team of Kellie Schmitt (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Karolina Soor (Lindesberg, Sweden) took an 8-2 decision over Stephanie Schnitter and Catriona Stewart at the number one position. The pair continues as the only perfect record for the Herd so far this season at 13-0.

Beier Ko and Margarita Krivitski defeated Thaddea Lock (Bristol, England) and Isabell Raich (Klaus, Austria) at the two slot.
Schmitt (107th) defeated Ko at the number one mark in straight-sets, 6-2, 6-3, to continue as the Herd's only singles player with one loss so far this season at 13-1.
Keener defeated Curto in straight-sets, 6-1, 6-0 at the number six. Playing the number three slot, Soor took a straight-set victory over Schnitter, 6-2, 6-3. Lock finished the straight-set sweep with a 6-2, 6-0 victory against Stewart.
Jeanne Schwartz (West Palm Beach, Fla.) fell to Laura Peterzan, 6-4, 6-0, at the number two. Samantha Rosekrans defeated Raich at the number four position, 3-6, 6-4 (10-6).
"We hope to build off this victory and play a better match tomorrow morning," Coach Mercer added.
