HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - The Marshall University men's basketball program held its annual end of year banquet on Monday at the Cam Henderson Center, where the Thundering Herd's four seniors were honored as well as recapping MU's first winning season since 2000-01.

Head coach Donnie Jones recalled his first season with Marshall among a crowd of approximately 350 guests. The Point Pleasant, W.Va., native paid tribute to his four departing seniors - Pierre-Marie Altidor Cespedes, Jean Francois Bro Grebe, Mark Dorris and Taurean Marshall - and distributed a pair of awards to his team.

T. Marshall, who underwent knee surgery just hours before the banquet, was awarded the team's Most Courageous Player after a season of battling serious injuries to his already reconstructed knee. Sophomore Tyler Wilkerson was named the Herd's Most Improved Player following a second half in which the forward recorded a team-best six double-doubles and finished the season as MU's leading rebounder.

Not only did the Herd post its first winning season since the beginning of the decade, but it drew over 5,000-plus fans per home game - also the most since the 2000-01 season.
