BLACKSBUGH, Va. - Junior Catherine Kellner won both of her matches on Saturday as she beat Neela Vaez of Virginia and Amy Simidian of Penn State to advance to the quarter-finals at the Wilson/ITA Atlantic Regional on the campus of Virginia Tech.

The Smithtown, N.Y., native defeated Vaez in the morning match in straight sets (6-1, 6-1). In the afternoon contest, Simidian took the first set 6-1, but Kellner would rebound to win in three sets (1-6, 6-3, 6-2).

"We are very excited for Catherine," head coach John Mercer said. "She is playing some great tennis."
