Six Herd Tennis Players Reach Singles Finals at Hokie Invitational

Blacksburg, Va. - Six out of the eight Marshall University women's tennis players advanced the finals of the Hokie Fall Invitational while Flight A and Flight B finals will be all MU players.
In Flight A, top seeded Michaela Kissell will face the nine seed Isabell Raich tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. Kissell defeated Christin Newman of Virginia Tech (6-1, 6-2). Raich also won in straight sets as she beat Elon's Anna Milian (6-3, 6-2).
Flight B will see Kristina Koprcina and Deanna Bailey square off in the championship. Koprcina was trailing Courtney Rauscher of Virginia Tech (6-7, 5-0) before Rauscher was forced to retire. Bailey won in straight sets (7-5, 6-4) over Diana Navrostakaya of East Tennessee State to reach the finals.
Dominika Zaprazna reached the finals of the Flight C bracket by defeating Teresa Wang of Davidson (6-1, 6-2), and Thaddea Lock will play for the Flight D championship tomorrow against Victoria Cran of Texas Tech.
Along with a phenomenal showing in the singles brackets, two Marshall double pairings will play in title matches tomorrow. In the Flight A bracket, the pairing of Kissell and Zaprazna will take on Virginia Tech's duo of Blakely and Johnson.
Flight B doubles sees MU's team of Bailey and freshman Kara Kucin takes on another Virginia Tech team of Betts and Rauscher. Both doubles championships start at 9 a.m.
