Marshall returns to action on Wednesday at East Carolina in a key Conference USA contest. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Williams Arena.
The game will not be televised, however video and audio are available through All-Access on Herdzone.com. Fans can also listen via the Thundering Herd/ISP Sports Radio Network.
The Thundering Herd (12-15 overall, 4-8 in C-USA) and the Pirates (13-13, 5-8 C-USA) are both trying to finish the season on high notes and get the best possible seed in the upcoming C-USA Tournament. A win over the Pirates would give the Herd the tie-breaker over ECU in the standings by virtue of its win earlier this year in Huntington.
Marshall is coming off of a tough 57-51 loss at Tulane on Saturday. The Thundering Herd led for much of the game, however the Green Wave broke a 49-49 tie at the 2:15 mark and managed to hold on for the win.
The Pirates are coming off back-to-back road losses at Southern Miss (69-59) and Tulsa (72-62) and will be attempting to avenge a 72-64 loss at Marshall on January 10th. Marshall will be without forward Tyler Wilkerson who scored a game-high 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in that contest.
ECU is led by Sam Hinnant's (6-4, senior guard) 15.2 points per game. The Pirates also receive 12.4 points per game from James Legan (6-3, senior, guard) and 11.5 ppg from Brock Young (5-11, soph. guard). Darrius Morrow is the team's leading rebounder with 6.8 rebounds per game.
Legan scored a team-high 16 points and Sam Hinnant registered 14 points at Marshall. ECU posted 17 assists on its 22 field goals as Young dished out a game-high seven assists while chipping in six points.
Young currently leads C-USA with 7.54 assists per game.
