Irving, Texas - Marshall University senior forward Markel Humphrey was named to the Conference USA All-Conference squad Monday for the third-time in his career. The all-conference squads are selected by a vote of league coaches and media members.

Humphrey, a senior from Atlanta, Ga., leads the Thundering Herd with 12.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per game this season, despite playing the entire year with a stress fracture in his foot.

Humphrey was named to the league's third-team squad for the third time in his career. The standout forward who ranks in Marshall's Top 20 in career scoring, rebounds and assists was named to the C-USA All-Freshman team in 2006 and earned third-team all-conference honors in 2007 and 2008.

Players from five different schools are represented on the 2009 All-Conference USA Men's Basketball first-team. Seniors Jermaine Taylor of UCF and Stefon Jackson of UTEP, two of the most prolific scorers in Conference USA history. They were joined by Tulsa junior center Jerome Jordan, Houston junior guard Aubrey Coleman and Memphis freshman guard Tyreke Evans.

A pair of Memphis Tigers and a pair of UAB Blazers join another Tulsa Golden Hurricane standout on the second team. Memphis seniors Antonio Anderson and Robert Dozier have compiled a four-year career record of 132-13. UAB seniors Paul Delaney III and Robert Vaden were first-team selections in 2007 and 2008, respectively. Tulsa junior guard Ben Uzoh repeats his C-USA second-team honor as TU's leading scorer this season.

Five different schools were also represented on the all-conference third team. Senior forwards Markel Humphrey of Marshall and Lawrence Kinnard of UAB, were joined by junior guards Kelvin Lewis of Houston and Jeremy Wise of Southern Miss and sophomore guard Randy Culpepper.

These 15 All-Conference players will be in action at this week's C-USA Men's Basketball Championship, March 11-14 at FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn.
