HUNTINGTON - Marshall head coach Leonard Kraus has announced the signing of Denver, Colorado diver Lauren Rone who will join the 2009-10 Thundering Herd swimming and diving team.
"Lauren is a fine young lady and we are very happy to have her on our boards for the next four years," Kraus said. "Lori has done a great job this year with making the diving group competitive for us with the two signees she has coming in. "
Rone was an excellent high school, as well as, USA Diving Club performer. She started diving three years ago with Mile High Diving under Coach Courtney McClow. In those three years, she has been a two-time Colorado State qualifier, placing 6th in 2008. Roan was also a Coaches Invitational finalist and an AAU National Qualifier 2008 on the one-meter board.
"I feel very lucky to have Lauren joining our team next season," said Marshall diving coach Lori Meierbachtol. "She will be making a huge impact for us right away because of her talent. I believe she has all her best diving ahead of her, and I am very excited to see what she will accomplish in the next four years."
