HUNTINGTON - Marshall swimming and diving coach Leonard Kraus announced Wednesday that his program has set its 2009-10 schedule.
"We have a full schedule for next year," Kraus said. "It is a good strong line-up of meets again. I am looking forward to the season and seeing how we handle our stretch of road meets in October and November."
After having seven home meets in the 2008-09 season, the Thundering Herd will have just four home contests next year. The Herd will open the season at home against Xavier on Oct. 10. Marshall's next home meet will be Jan. 16 versus Akron and California University of Pennsylvania, followed by a Jan. 20 home date with Vanderbilt and the 2nd Annual Marshall Invite on Feb. 19-20.
Marshall's road schedule includes its annual matchup with West Virginia on Oct. 17 in Morgantown, W.Va. The Thundering Herd will also travel to ECU, Youngstown, Radford, Ohio and James Madison.
The Herd is slated to compete in the Ball State Invite on Nov. 20-21 and the Western Kentucky on Nov. 19-21.
"How we do in that group in our road meets will be the biggest factor in determining whether we have a great dual meet record or an average year," Kraus said. "I think we should be able to build through out the season and have great end-of-season meets at our invite. Then of course we'll be ready for the Conference USA Championships."
