Green & White Game Rosters Announced

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall University linebacker Mario Harvey was the first player selected in the Thundering Herd's Green-White player draft on Thursday and he will suit up for the White Team on Saturday when the two teams meet at 3 p.m. Tickets are $5 with all proceeds benefiting the Marshall University Quarterback Club.
Head coach Mark Snyder has divided his staff and seniors for the game. Rick Minter, Phil Ratliff, Todd Goebbel, Jeff Burrow, Cullen Homolka and Adam Austin will coach the white squad, while John Shannon, Mike Cassity, Bob Fello, Jared Smith, Zac Hood and Mike Ward will serve as the Green Team coaches.
Harvey, Marshall leading tackler with 107 tackles last season is listed as a senior on the Herd's roster, however the standout is expected to earn back an additional season of eligibility due to his academic progress. Therefore, he was in the draft pool on Thursday as a junior.
The two teams flipped a coin to determine the first team to open a position and draft a player. Once a position was open, the other team had to draft from the pool of available players at that position. Among the notable picks by position were the quarterback spot where the white squad selected Brian Anderson first with the green team selecting Mark Cann second and the Green team taking all-conference performer Darius Marshall with its first pick at running back.
Snyder announced the offensive linemen will play for both squads and they were excluded from the draft pool. Specialists were also drafted, however they will operate for both units in the game.
The Green Team for Saturday's contest features the following players: Wayne Bonner, Mark Cann, George Carpenter, Jacqoui Chandler, Pete Culicerto, Vinny Curry, Daniel Drake, T.J. Drakeford, Courtney Edmonson, Charles Gilkerson, Montel Glasco, Scott Gray, Kellen Harris, Corey Hart, Robert Henry, Delvin Johnson, Jake Laudenslayer, Darius Marshall, Chris Maxwell, Albert McClellan, Josh Miller, Bryant Milligan, Kevin Perry, Julian Poindexter, Andre Portis, Craig Ratanamorn, Nate Robinson, John Saunders, Ahmed Shakoor, Tyler Shick, Lee Smith, Jordan Taylor, Demetrius Thomas, Demetrius Thompson, Josh Wallace, Kase Whitehead and Jamal Wilson.
