Three Women's Tennis Players Named Scholar Athletes

IRVING, Texas - Junior Isabell Raich (Klaus, Austria) and 2009 graduates Jessica Keener (Reston, Va.) and Karolina Soor (Lindesberg, Sweden) were named Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) scholar athletes, announced by the conference office Tuesday, for the 2008-09 academic year.

The trio earned scholar athlete status by meeting the requirements of being a varsity letterwinner and achieving a minimum grade point average of 3.50 for the academic year. Raich and Soor, management majors, posted GPA's of 3.83 and 3.81 respectively. Keener earned a 3.88 in economics.

As a team, Marshall garnered the ITA All-Academic Team award. The Herd collectively had a grade point average higher than the required 3.20. They were joined by the Houston Cougars, the Rice Owls, and the UAB Blazers as Conference USA teams to earn the team award.
