IRVING, Texas - Marshall University senior forward has been named to the 2010-11 Conference USA Preseason Team in an announcement by the league on Thursday.

The team, which was voted on by the league coaches, includes Crook, Houston forward Courtney Taylor, who was named the Preseason Player of the Year, Brittany Scott of Houston, Brittany Carter of Memphis, Danielle Nunn from Tulane and Jala Harris from UAB.

Crook, a two-time All-Conference USA Third Team member, becomes the first Marshall player to be named to the C-USA Preseason Team. "We are very proud for Ty and our program," Thundering Herd head coach Royce Chadwick said. "It is great for her to break the ice for us and have a first teamer on our ballot. I think her statistics speak for themselves and I am sure that she is primed for a spectacular season."

The senior forward is coming off of a solid junior season in which she led the Herd in scoring (13.4 PPG), rebounding (7.7 RPG) and blocked shots (40). She also ranked in the top three in Conference USA in all three categories.

She once again was the leader for the Herd in the postseason, recording her seventh postseason double-double in the 2010 C-USA Tournament in Tulsa. It marked the seventh double-double in as many games for the two-time All-Tournament Team member.

Crook and the rest of the Herd will face off against West Virginia Wesleyan in its lone exhibition game on November 1 before opening the regular season at the Longwood Classic in Farmville, Va. on November 12.
